Elimination of FMCSA-Regulated Motor Cargo Insurance

We got notice of some changes at the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Effective March 21, 2011 only household goods carriers and household goods freight forwarders will be required to furnish evidence of financial responsibility for cargo loss and damage claims. FMCSA has ordered that effective 3/21/2011 all existing filings will automatically terminate.

FMSCA has stated they will revise the BMC-34 financial responsibility filing and BMC-32 insurance policy endorsement, which, as previously stated, will only be required for carriers and forwarders of household goods [49 USC § 13102(10).

For printed copies of the decision or anymore questions leave a comment or head to Wolpert.com.

  1. Really need suggestions from professional in auto insurane. I am aware a couple of people who filled out their own info in to one of the numerous “online car insurance quotes” and after this they have got solicitors around them, email messages, on their phone, junk mail as well as one case of Social Security Id theft. Thus my real question is: Are these web based car insurance quotes really safe? Doesn’t it make sense to remain with a local car insurance agent you can do business with both on the phone or even in person.
