Hockey Charity Event Participant; He Shoots, He Scores!…Or Does He???

At a US Hockey League game on 2/12/2011 in Indianapolis, a fan was challenged to make a difficult hockey goal; after Richard Marsh made the apparent impossible shot, he found out he was disqualified from the $50,000 reward.

The following video demonstrates this controversial shot.

A press release from the Indiana Ice Hockey Team released last week states that the decision to not donate the prize money came from the third-party insurance who pays money based on whether contestants make hockey shots within specific guidelines. The contestant was disqualified because he made the shot from outside the designated area.

In the end, Indiana Ice decided to honor its charity promise by donating the money.
